WAR IN THE PROMISED LAND

WAR IN THE PROMISED LAND

1Timothew 6:12

We are in the Promised Land now, where we have entered into the rest of God. But this is not the end of it; we have to possess our possessions and live the victorious life that God has called us to live.

Looking at their example back in the old testament we can find out how they fought when they go to their promised land, because the fight of faith takes place in the promised land after you have got there.

Joshua 5:13

Revelation 22:8-9

Worship God only and not angels.

Colossians 2:18

The point is that the man that appeared to Joshua could not have been just another angel from God but a member of the God – head.

GOD’S STRATEGIES FOR JOSHUA’S FIGHT OF FAITH AT JERICHO

Joshua 6:2

This was the beginning of the message the Lord brought to Joshua and I want you to observe it carefully; understand here the past tense of God’s word when you study the scriptures, carefully, you come to realize there are promises and there are statements of fact.

A promise is for the future and whenever you need it you can draw on it. But a statement of fact is that which had been established already; it has been done already.

Genesis 15:18-21

So in the mind of Go all these lands already belonged to Abraham and his seed. In the realm of the Spirit it was done; this is a statement of the fact. Subsequent verses contain further instructions from God.

Joshua 6:3-5

Joshua 6:10

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE WALLS OF JERICHO

This was going to be Joshua’s first battle as the leader of Israel. They had just moved into the Promised Land on this side of Jordan, and the first encounter they had was with walls.

These walls acted as fortresses; walls are meant to control or hinder movement in this case; walls stand for anything that seeks to hinder or hinders us from moving into our inheritance.

It is anything that stops, hinders of deters us from moving into our inheritance. Let observe the strategies for pulling down walls

1.       They had to hear the word from God in case of the children of Israel, the word they heard from God was “see, I have give into thine hand Jericho.

2.       They needed to Meditate on the word. In that meditation, they were asked to keep quite.

3.       They have to give the note of victory [Joshua 6:10] in this they are told to shout and blow trumpets. You will need to remember this as you go along in your Christian walk.

FIGHT FAITH

When they got into the land of promise, Joshua had to defeat 31 kings, that is 31 kingdoms

[Joshua 12:1-24] God had given them the land but they still had to go and fight for it.
